Over the road.

This was my last painting. The veiw across the street. The scooter was going to be the focal point but was driven away 10 minutes after I started.

View from the room

This was the view south towards the island, we were on the north coast.

In the pool

Here is Sam and Charlie in the pool. drawing water from life is hard, painting it impossible!

The Boys.

First up a watercolour of Sam. In the shade by the pool, great to have such bright light to give lots of reflective colour.
My only other chance was to paint one of Danny but that was on a watercolour postcard pad and I sent that image to Sara. If I can get a copy I will put it on here.

I did a few of Jack. This is the best of the bunch. He doesn't stay still for very long so i have to be quick.

Danny would let me draw him and I was pleased with this likeness.

Charlie also sat for a while and thanks to him for the pad. He gave this to me as a gift a couple of years back.

Rethmynon Crete

Its been a week since I got back from Crete with my four boys.
Needed to get away, wife has left after 23 years, on 16th July.
It is hard for me but even more so for the boys. So this was something to take there minds off events.

The wether was hot but we all got to relax and I got to draw and paint most of them.

What follows is the results.
This was a view of our room from beside the pool.

Charlie Bucket.

Oil on Canvas 14" x 20"

This is the painting that has been sitting on my easle for around a year now. I am trying to find some inspiration and or referance to help with the water to the right of Charlie's head. I am quite happy with most of the water effect but it is the reflective /depth that I have struggled with so it waits to be finished.

Any comments and or pointers would be great.

Bow church.

Ok, I apologise for the time without posting. As I have said before a lot going on in my life. Maybe I will put it on here, maybe not.

This is another of my London scenes and I have struggled with it for a while. I don't want to get into too much detail. my inspiration was the lighting. So I will leave it for a while before signing it, my way of knowing the painting is finished.

A painting from a photo taken on holiday 2008 in Cornwall.

I want to have an exhibition of paintings of dog walking and think I have about four or five/ Not sure how many I need to have a show...

London stock exchange.

Another London painting, 30 x 40 cm oil on canvas.
I hope to get a collection of these paintings and see if a gallery will try and sell them!

A quick sketch in Corel Painter. The blender tool that I had been using isn't working as well as before.

Sara in Hat.

An Oil of wife, Sara, 16" x 16". Wanted to keep a looseness to the work and let the colours be my main focus. The first of the year, I want to keep them coming.

I have put my drawings and paintings of my family in a book :http://www.blurb.com/my/store

Corel Painter nude 2

Another Corel Painter life drawing. I have tried to limit my brushes to one oil brush and a blend brush.

Prehaps I should try and pick something simpler to tackle.

Danny at Southend

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU.
This painting was done on a Gesso covered MDF board 10" x 12" (260 x 310 cm) in oil.
It was the baisis for this years Christmas card.
I had been meaning to put it up sooner but its been a tough time at home emotionally.
Still I am going to try and do more painting this year.

Painter Test

I lost all my brush pallets in Corel Painter, so I decided to try and create a new load of brushes, includong blenders, while doing a test. I think it is the best way as you are using the brush for a real application. Here I found a brilliant, loose, painting and used it for referance. I now have two blenders and an oil brush although I am not happy with the oil brush yet.

Fantasy art!

Ok its been a while, all sorts of things going on but not been anything I can post. Here is an image I have been fiddling with for a week or so. A possible job for the studio was to produce a CGI poster for a martial arts game. No real brief as the job got blown out but I just cobbled some ideas together. I didn't do enough design for the thing, as I say there was no real brief. but looking at ImageFX mag I wanted to try something similar.

Car in Photoshop.

Coupe design. I was trying to take one of my scribbles and neaten it up in Photoshop. I tend to find that my initial drawing becomes too simplified and looses its energy. But the colours are nice.
